This beach is probably the most famous beach in Bali. Kuta is a beautiful crescent-shaped beach, which is only about a ten-minute drive from the Denpasar airport. Kuta beach is very famous for it’s surfing and the lack of coral reefs in the area, it is the perfect beach for beginners and experienced surfers alike. Many people say to Kuta Beach is the best in the world. many 3 and 4-star restaurants are close to the beach, it is also a shopping mecca and a lively nightlife. On the beach, the atmosphere very cosy and topless bathing and similar are usually not a big problem.
Although there are no “public nude beaches” in Bali, as is the beautifully situated beach Uluwatu a good bet, as it is tucked away behind a large rock. A sunset at Uluwatu Beach is one of the most beautiful sights in the world, and there are many local cafes in the area. Uluwatu is a very lovely white sand beach.
Most of the other beaches
Geger Beach, Dreamland Beach, etc. was a secret nudist beach for some time. Geger is better known because it is five minutes from the largest golf resorts, called Nusa Dua. Recently, Dreamland Beach a makeover and is now called “New Kuta Beach” in an attempt to get more tourism revenue.
Clothing Optional retreats
Bali has two popular clothing optional villas. In South Bali the Villa Bali Gattes is minutes away from Canggu and Echo beaches. The other villa Laki Uma Villa has optional nudity on the premises. However, most of the guests choose to go nude. Facilities include a steam room, Jacuzzi tubs and a library.
Nudity on beaches is actually not legal on Bali!!!
Quote from USA Today: “In 2008 Indonesia’s Parliament in Jakarta passed an anti-pornography law that can land you up to four years in jail if caught processing or downloading pornography and a sentence of up to 12 years in jail for any sexually suggestive display or performance. Exposing body parts in an exotic way would be punishable by as much as 10 years in jail. Depending on how your nudity was perceived by the authorities under these laws, there could be severe legal consequences for public nudity in Bali.”.
If you risk public nudity on the beach, then do it on less populated beaches in the less populated end. The mentioned beaches is good beaches, but no garanties for the consequences.
Is it worth the risk?
I personally wouldn’t take the risk on the beach but on a clothing optional resort/villa, I would.
